Five Insane Game of Thrones Fan Theories That Might Actually Be True

 

If you’re like me you’re desperately waiting for Game of Thrones to magically reappear on the screen so that you can end your ceaseless waiting and pining to see what fate awaits Westeros. There are theories aplenty and buzz enough to fill the ears of every fan from one coast to another a few times over, but which ones are feasible and which ones are simply the deranged rants of fans that have worked themselves into GoT delirium?  It’s hard to know anymore largely because we’ve been made to wait so long, but if we can hold out just a little bit longer, we might be rewarded with something we had no idea to expect.
In the meantime, here are some theories you might want to pay close attention to.

5. Jaime will kill Cersei.
Oh please don’t say you’re surprised by this. She might be his sister, but she’s already on the same level as the Mad King Aerys, and you know what happened to him. Thanks to the prophecies of Maggie the Frog, Cersei has seen her children ascend to greatness and subsequently perish while her late husband sired his own long and scandalous list of illegitimate children. She also believes it is Tyrion that will do the deed, as he hates her more than anyone and would likely give anything to wrap his stubby fingers around her throat. Time will tell, but we might get to see the Kingslayer, part II.

4. The dragon has three heads.
This has a lot of people excited. It’s very obvious that the Targaryen bloodline managed to insinuate itself throughout much of Westeros judging by the theories that have abounded about who is and who isn’t a part of the clan. But think about the sigil of house Targaryen, it’s a three-headed dragon, which is highly symbolic and not to be ignored. So who gets to ride the dragons? Dany of course, but the other two are believed to be none other than Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow, who will round out the three-headed dragon theory. It should be epic.

3. Daenerys might break bad in the next season.
Before anyone gets all bent out of shape and cries foul, just think about. She’s been ruthless in her pursuit of the iron throne, cruel even at times. She goes cold as ice despite the obvious fire that burns in her chest, and she can turn it on and off with hardly any effort. Her conquests have freed a horde of slaves, but she has also shed rivers of blood to get what she wanted and has shown no qualms about doing this. So is she really the good guy? Or is she just waiting to drop the hammer on those that believe she can do no wrong? Jon might want to watch himself if he’s to even think of becoming Dany’s ally, let alone her consort.

2. Another Targaryen.
It’s kind of a stretch, but there is a theory that Rhaegar Targaryen took liberties with Tyrion’s mother Joanna as he was quite taken with her. Tywin Lannister always despised his youngest son, claiming that he was not his when it proved convenient and only claiming him when it was advantageous to do so. But let’s look at this, Tyrion in the book has mismatched eyes, which means mixed blood in Westeros. His birth killed his mother, and he had to kill someone close to him. Now who else did that? Oh yeah, Jon and Dany. Coincidence? Maybe, but maybe not.

1. Bran is responsible for a lot of the struggle in Westeros.
This one might seem like a real head-scratcher, but bear with me. Bran essentially caused Hodor to become the single-word simpleton he was. He was the voice in the Mad King’s ear telling him to “burn them all”. Sadly Aerys II thought this meant to burn down his own kingdom rather than white walkers. It’s a very existential theory, but one that makes a lot of sense if you give it some thought.
